The Life and Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. By Daniel Defoe. In Two Volumes. London: W. Lane, 1790.

-------------------

A lovely 18th century example of Defoe's magnum opus, Robinson Crusoe, here wonderfully presented in original condition in contemporary bindings, illustrated throughout with full page illustrations.

Condition:

Contemporary half calf over marbled paper backed boards, spines uniformly sunned, rubbed, with loss to the head of volume one's backstrip, the tooled labels chipped, and the bindings generally rubbed, but remain well presented and generally smart. All boards attached, bindings secure, without shelf lean. All edges marbled, tops dulled as typical. Volume one lacks its title page and frontispiece, potentially also a half title. Some light foxing in text blocks but generally very clean, mildly toned, ink ownership inscription to front blank in both volumes dated 1846. A nice 18th century copy of Robinson Crusoe, illustrated, overall well presented.
