Uniform contemporary full vellum, each volume in very large format, each retaining its tooled label to the spine. The set collates as complete in eight volumes. Occasionally a volume lacks a blank but the set is textually complete inclusion the frontispiece in the first volume. Spines rubbed with the usual discolouration, but generally very attractive indeed on the shelf. All boars are securely attached with joints all secure. Boards generally very good, some with minor discolouration as typical. Page edges cut a little non-uniformly as published. Endpapers heavily toned throughout most volumes. Title page in the first volume is printed in red and black, all the others in black. Without any bookplates or ownership inscriptions, thought with a very faint purple stamp to the head of the preliminary blank in the first volume, illegible. This is often either on the front pastedown on preliminary blank, but in all cases is too faint to be legible. Very clean throughout text blocks. The text without loss of sense throughout all volumes. A fantastic very large set.
