A fantastic book of sermons from the time of Elizabeth I, published for private use rather than ministerial use, and thus rather interesting indeed. The text is in a lovely large type and a pleasure to read

Condition:

[t.p., ii-vii, pp.8-537, t.p., i-viii, 9-106, 2pp, t.p., 2-11, (1)]

Contemporary full calf, dry and rubbed, retaining its original tooled morocco label. Some minor loss at the head of the backstrip. Joints rubbed, exposed and cracked, but with both boards attached, fragile, but useable. Shelf and edge wear. Completely unrestored and thus rather charming. Endpapers edge toned as commensurate with the binding, as is the title page, else very clean throughout the text blocks, fully legible, the entire text block without loss of sense. Third title page a little trimmed at the head for the binding as pictured. A lovely very charming copy, unrestored.
