19th century bookplate and ownership inscription of John Headlam, MA to front pastedown and head of front free endpaper, respectively.

Contemporary quarter calf over marbled paper backed boards, leather rubbed, lacks tooled label. Joints cracked, but with both boards securely attached, binding secure. Bookplate to front pastedown and corresponding ink ownership inscription to head of ffep. Three plates throughout, all of which are laid down. Generally bright and clean throughout the text.
