Bookplate from Jersey High School for Girls from 1895; inscribed "Presented to Madeline Baker. Knicler Yarlen (?) Prize by the Council. Date Oct 31st 1895".

Gilt crest depicting three leopards on the front board with the inscription "Jersey High School for Girls (Limited)" and "Founded A.D. MDCCCLXXXIII" (1883). The crest is similar to that of the coat of arms of Jersey which depicts three leopards on a red field.

Condition:
Spine lightly sunned with superficial scratches and very minor rubbing. Tooled label lacking. Spine lightly warped. Both boards securely attached with minor wear to joints and hinges. Boards with uneven sunning to small parts, and with superficial scratches and rubbing. Shelf and edge wear. Very minor dulling to page edges. Bookplate attached to front pastedown. Pen ownership inscription, "Laelia Thorold", on the reverso of the frontispiece. Text block extremely clean with light toning. Uncollated.
