A stunning limited edition of Richard Burton's magnum opus. This collection was privately printed for subscribers only because of the erotic imagery throughout and strict Victorian laws on such material. Being offered here is the complete edition in all 17 volumes, with the 7 volume Supplemental Nights.

Condition:
Spines sunned but remain attractive. Some wear to spines extremities with minor wear in compartments. Very minor shelf wear. Joints fine with all boards securely attached. Corners near fine. Preliminaries and endpapers toned. All volumes numbered 252 except volume one which is 563, though all are uniformly bound. Interestingly some volumes have different coloured marbled endpapers to others, but all volumes are internally consistent with each other. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper in first volume only from a previous bookseller. Internally very clean without foxing etc. Collated complete with called for plates. Some tissue guards with folds and some toning but most are very good. Boards are generally near fine to fine.
