Senecae Tragoediae. Florence: Philippa de Giunta, 1506, 8vo.
-------------------
A lovely copy of the rare 1506 Giunta printing of Seneca, printed in the manner of Aldus Manutius both typographically and in format. This is the first edition to include Bernardo Riccardini's argumenta as well as a commentary on the life of Seneca.

A few capitals are supplemented in an early hand. a8 blank recto with a hand-drawn emblem of a tree with a city view in the background (unidentified). A little loss to m5 outer blank marginal space. Mild toning throughout, dampstaining in upper right beginning in t gathering, progressing through towards the end of the text block with the final few leaves (D-D7) with much more prominent staining which does not obscure the legibility of the text, else generally a well preserved copy.
