Excellent half morocco binding, finely tooled in gilt to spine compartments between raised bands, bound by Hatchards with their binder's stamp to the head of the ffep. Binding bright and externally in near fine condition, minor rubbing along the joints with cloth backed boards very slightly discoloured. Very attractive indeed on the shelf. Both boards securely attached, the binding secure, and without shelf lean. Top edge gilt, a little discoloured, with a small stain at one end, other edges with some foxing visible when spread apart. Without any attached bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Endpapers foxed, else very clean throughout the text block. Text collates as complete and the full text is legible without loss of sense. An excellent copy.
