Size: 103 x 158 mm (approx.)

Condition:

[viii, A1-2I7, blank, 2A1-2N10]

Full black leather binding with gilt borders and compartments separated with gilt to the spine with gilt suns in between and 'BIBLE' written in gilt. Binding is unsigned or undated but the blanks have watermarks dated 1805 and so one assumes the binding is circa 1805 too. Leather rubbed, heavily to the spine, with some loss to the leather at the extremities, with the most affected area at the head of the spine. Shelf wear with some losses at corners. Without noticeable shelf lean.

Collated as complete but with the final blank torn with loss and with one of the initial blanks detached but present and another of the initial blanks partially detached but present. No title page for the New Testament but this does not appear to be called for. Ink ownership inscription to ffep verso (illegible), probably circa the early to mid 19th century. Very clean throughout the text block, mildly toned as typical. Final few leaves trimmed at the fore edge with slight loss.
