The classic reference work for antiquarian book dealers and collectors from the Victorian period, remaining very useful to this day for its bibliographical excellence. A surprisingly rare set and quite difficult to come by.

Near contemporary half morocco over green cloth backed boards with gilt titles in compartments between raised bands. Spines rubbed, more so to extremities, with some small cracking to the leather of the backstrips. All boards securely attached with rubbing along joints. Boards with some light discolouration and few very minor marks. Bindings secure with no shelf lean. Shelf and edge wear with corners lightly turned-in. Top page edges gilt and darkened as typical. Page edges lightly toned and unevenly trimmed. Text blocks very clean with occasional foxing. Very light edge toning to marbled endpapers as commensurate with the leather bindings. Occasional pen and pencil marginalia as well as a few bound in handwritten notes and a clippings. Some text cracked to the end of the text blocks, some to the start, with all leaves securely attached. Title page in volume two detached at the bottom but secure. Lacks the sixth volume which would have been the index, otherwise the bibliography set is complete with the full bibliography of books from A to Z.
