Spines rubbed and scuffed, primarily to volume one. Wear and small tears to backstrip of spine extremities and joints; including prominent wear to head and tails with pieces lacking. All boards loosely attached with wear to joints and hinges; starting or cracked. Boards scuffed and rubbed, with very few and very small pieces of patterned paper lacking. Labels on front boards rubbed with small parts of writing being illegible. Shelf and edge wear. Prominent wear to corners. Page edges toned. Bookplate attached to front pastedown in both volumes. Pen ownership inscription on f.f.e.p. in both volumes. F.f.e.p. in volume one creased. Frontispieces and engraved title pages foxed. Title pages lightly toned with very minor foxing. Text blocks very clean with very sporadic very minor foxing. Plates lightly transferred onto pages opposite. Uncollated but appears complete.
