A lovely book with a particularly excellent engraved frontis and title page, as well as an illustration of The Last Supper.

Quarter calf over marbled boards. Backstrip being contemporary and the boards later, probably late 18th century. Spine rubbed with loss. Original label lacking. Front joints cracked but with both boards attached, the front a little fragile. Boards rubbed with some loss to leather. Binding without shelf lean. Shelf and edge wear. Minor losses at corners. Contemporary ownership inscription to the head of the title page of Mary Crossman, and another contemporary ownership inscription of Anne Orbbel to main title page and A2 (ie. dedication). Total of three plates throughout, including the frontis and engraved title page. Generally clean throughout, mildly toned. Page edges a little discoloured, dulled at the top as typical.
