-------------------
A very scarce set, the first collected edition of Madame Riccoboni's oeuvre. She was a correspondent of David Hume and David Garrick, and associated with Voltaire. Adam Smith in The Theory of Moral Sentiments ranked her with Voltaire, Racine, Richardson, and Marivaux as "one of the poets and romance writers who best paint the refinements of... private and domestic affections."
