Half brown calf over marbled paper backed boards with black morocco tooled labels on compartments to spines between decorative gilt bands. Bindings rubbed and scuffed. All tooled labels present, some with rubbing and loss. All boards attached with rubbing along joints, and minor wear to hinges. Shelf and edge wear. Page edges dulled, top edges darkened as often. Text blocks fairly clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Endpapers foxed. Pencil ownership inscriptions to front pastedown, ffep, and to the head of the title page in volume one. Small wormholing to the top inner corner to the first few leaves in volume one. Foldout maps with some edge tears and creasing, as often. The foldout maps have transferred onto the title pages opposite with some toning and foxing. Long ink inscriptions to the front pastedowns and ffeps in volumes four, five, and six. Pencil inscriptions to pp.468 in volume seven in the blank space. First few and last few leaves foxed.
