Near contemporary full calf, rubbed with loss, substantial losses to backstrip including most of the tooled label. Joints cracked with both boards detached. In need of a rebacking. Bookplate to front pastedown. Endpapers edge toned as commensurate with the full calf binding. Mildly toned throughout, else, generally very clean. The text block is trimmed at the index, occasionally catching part of a letter, but is seemingly untrimmed throughout the main text block. Fore-edge repair to the frontis leaf, only visible on the back.
