Provenance: Bookplate of John Burton Philips. The crest shows a crown wearing lion holding a diamond shape. Burton built Heath House in Staffordshire in 1836. The house was designed by Thomas Johnson in the Tudor style.

Condition: 

Spine with very minor wear only visible upon very close inspection. Tooled label present. Both boards securely attached with very minor wear to joints and hinges. Boards with very minor superficial scratches. Endpapers, half title and title page foxed. Bookplate attached to front pastedown. Text block with sporadic minor foxing. Uncollated but appears complete.
