Armorial bookplate of Sir Thomas Maryon Wilson Bar't (1800-1869), with the motto "Res Non Verba" (deeds, not words), who was the 8th Baronet of Eastbourne and Charlton, the Lord at Hampstead Manor, and the Colonel of West Kent Light Infantry Militia.

Full brown calf bindings, rebacked, with red tooled labels in compartments to the spines between raised bands, other compartments with simple decorative blind-stamping. Bindings with very minor rubbing and scuffing, and some discolouration. All boards attached with secured joints and hinges from the rebacking. Very small loss of leather from the front board of volume two. Shelf and edge wear with corners lightly turned-in. Page edges toned. Bookplate attached to the front pastedown in all volumes. Text blocks very clean with some minor foxing. Illustrated with numerous plates (uncollated).Very few small closed edge tears. Plates transferred onto pages opposite. Some leaves more foxed than others.
