Naively rebacked with a plain spine with no tooled labels or gilt. Boards irregular causing shelf lean. Boards with rubbing, scuffing, scratches, and few fragments of leather lacking. Front hinge cracked. New pastedown attached over original front pastedown. New preliminaries have been bound in with potentially original preliminary (with handwritten notes). Frontispiece lacking if called for (?). Title page partially detached from the page block with toning, foxing, and two very minor worm holes. Text block toned with minor foxing. More prominent foxing to pp.113-136. Three plates bound at the rear with minor foxing. Ink ownership inscription on endpaper and rear pastedown. Rear hinge reinforced with the rebacked spine.
