Uniform contemporary full calf, very attractive on the shelf and in remarkable condition. A little rubbed, but significantly better than typical. Some gilt loss of volume numbering to spines. Tooled red morocco labels applied uniformly to spines, seemingly a little later than contemporary, but very attractive. Joints rubbed, some starting or cracked at extremities as often, but with all boards securely attached, bindings secure, and without shelf lean. Endpapers edge toned as commensurate with the calf bindings. No attached bookplates. Internally exceptionally clean throughout, mildly toned as typical. Collated as complete through each volume including the various errata leaves, subscriber's list, etc, no half titles, but seemingly as called for. A magnificent set.
