Size: 240 x 300 mm (approx.)

Condition:

Generally a very good to near fine set. A truly excellent example of this monumental and important edition of Spenser's Faerie Queene.

Some rubbing to the spines, mostly to the raised bands and extremities. Retains both red tooled morocco labels which read "Upton's Spencer". Shelf and edge wear. Joints without fault with all boards securely attached, the bindings secure and without shelf lean. Top page edges dulled as typical. Boards near fine generally without scuffs, rubbing, etc. Contemporary endpapers without any attached bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Text blocks extremely clean, some very light faults to the title pages and a bit of foxing to the final few leaves in each volume (blanks etc).
