Contemporary fine full vellum binding finely decorated in gilt with the arms of Amsterdam to both boards, the same smaller in the corners of the gilt panels, and the same motif repeating in compartments of the spine between raised bands. The spine retains its attractive tooled black morocco label. Binding rubbed with a little discolouration as typical. The vellum is slightly raised to the rear board. Both boards are securely attached, the binding is secure, and without shelf lean. Minor shelf and edge wear. Bookplate to front pastedown and ffep recto with a bookseller ticket to upper front pastedown (very small). Shelf reference mark in ink above bookplate on ffep recto. Mildly toned through the text block else generally very clean throughout. A lovely copy.
