An attractive duodecimo set in contemporary bindings of this 18th century English edition of Gil Blas.

Contemporary uniform full calf bindings, all boards securely attached, bindings secure, some joints cracked. Bindings rubbed, minor loss, shelf and edge wear, some labels lacking, those extant chipped.
All four volumes collate as complete. Y1 torn in volume one, no text loss. M2 torn in volume three, no text loss. Preliminary blank in volume three partially detached. Various old ownership inscriptions to pastedowns and endpaper blanks, one dated 1774 (‘William Rippon’) and others from the Murthwaite family. Generally bright and clean throughout all four volumes. An excellent set.
