Half brown morocco over marbled paper backed boards with gilt tile and author in compartments to the spine between raised bands. Binding lightly rubbed and scuffed, most wear to extremities. Both boards securely attached with rubbing along joints and minor wear to hinges. Shelf and edge wear. Top page edge gilt with minor scratches, else edges toned. Illustrated with 21 full page plates as well as with the engraved title page. Text block very clean with very light toning and occasional foxing, most occurring on the plates. Bookplate attached to front pastedown.
