Provenance:
Bookplate of John Burton Philips. The crest shows a crown wearing lion holding a diamond shape. Burton built Heath House in Staffordshire in 1836. The house was designed by Thomas Johnson in the Tudor style.

Spines with very minor wear to spines. Tooled labels present. All boards securely attached. Very minor scratches to boards. Very minor shelf wear. Very minor dulling to page edges. Bookplate attached to front pastedown in both volumes. Bookplates lightly transferred onto pages opposite. Half titles and title pages foxed. Text blocks fairly clean with light toning and minor foxing. Uncollated but appears complete.
