Samuel Sandys (1695-1770) was the first Baron of Ombersley, also known as Baron Sandys, was a Whig politician, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Leader of the House of Commons, Cofferer of Household, and the First Lord of Trade.

Ink inscription reading "Christopher Makepeace: 1713".

Full brown calf binding with simple blind-stamped edge to both boards on the inner side. Binding lightly rubbed and scuffed, with small losses at extremities of the spine. Both boards attached, fragile, joints and hinges cracked, rear board mostly detached, attached with a single binding string. Lacking headcap and tailcap. Shelf and edge wear. Does not stand upright due to the rear board being mostly detached. Ink ownership inscriptions to front blank and rear endpaper. No attached bookplates. Lacking rear blanks. Text block very clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Some damp staining towards the middle of the text block to some leaves.
