Six volumes, uniformly bound in half black calf leather. A rare rather early American edition of Hume's celebrated work on the History of England.

Condition: 

Spines with light cracking and rubbing. Head and tail of the spines with minor wear. Most tooled labels present; lacking one tooled label. All boards attached with wear to joints and hinges, some starting or cracked. Boards with very minor wear, primarily rubbing. Shelf and edge wear. Minor shelf lean. Dulling to page edges.  Text block very clean with light toning and very sporadic very minor foxing. Small damp stains to the top of leaves in volumes five and six. Uncollated. Spine of volume one partially detached, but a fairly easy repair.
