Near contemporary full calf, finely tooled to the spines retaining the tooled morocco labels. Bindings rubbed, the head of the spine of volume two is blackened. Joints rubbed but with all boards securely attached. Binding secure and without shelf lean. Shelf and edge wear as typical. Top page edges uniformly dulled, others very good. Bookplate to front pastedown dated 1724 with some early ink to the head with shelf reference marks of volume one and to the head of the ffep in volume two. Early ink writing to the foot of the first volume's title page. Generally very clean throughout text blocks, including some lovely plates. A lovely set.
