Full brown calf bindings with brown tooled labels in compartments to the spines between raised bands, other compartments with decorative gilt. Bindings rubbed and scuffed, with some marks and discolouration. Small part of the leather lacking from the head of the spine to front board of volume four. All boards attached with rubbing along joints and minor wear to hinges, some cracked or starting. Shelf and edge wear. Red spotted page edges dulled. No attached bookplates. Ink inscription and stamp to the title page in volume one, and a stamp on the title page in volume two, three, and four. Title page in volume four repaired due to some loss to the top inner corner; the title page is partially detached. Title on A1 in volume four (pp.1/2) has had the title coloured in with ink which has transferred onto the reverso and partially to A2 (pp.3). Repairs to A1-A12 where the lacking text has been handwritten to make the text legible in an early hand, some smudges. Text blocks very clean with light toning and occasional foxing. p.25-38 and some leaves of the Table in volume four with the top corners torn with loss, not affecting text. Foldout plates in volume two with some tears. Some leaves are more foxed than others. Some occasional ink stains.
