The novel is a humorous satirical work of Henry Fielding. It tells the story of Joseph Andrews and Mr. Abraham Adams on their adventures and mishaps. The novel is known for its parody of the heroic romance trope and its social commentary. A very early edition following the first in 1742.

Condition: 

Spines with very minor cracking, rubbing, and wear. Prominent wear to heads and bottoms of spines. Tooled labels prominently dulled. All boards loosely attached with cracked joints and hinges. Front board of volume two mostly detached; attached with single binding string at the bottom. Boards with superficial scratches, rubbing, and very minor scuffing. Shelf and edge wear. Dulling to page edges. Lacking all but one endpaper which is detached in volume two. Pencil inscriptions on front pastedowns. Pen ownership inscriptions on rear pastedowns in both volumes. Text blocks fairly clean with light toning to edges and minor foxing. Uncollated.
