Contemporary full calf bindings, recently rebacked, very attractive indeed on the shelf. All boards are securely attached, the bindings are secure, and stand without shelf lean. Hinges reinforced, recent endpapers. Some plates bound in slightly different locations than as indicated by the plates lists at the end of volumes. Small leaf repairs to first two leaves of volume one incl main title page as pictured. Large foldout map usually bound as a frontispiece to volume one, present, but detached, some repairs verso. A small number of maps with some repairs, minor stains, but generally are very attractive indeed. The Canterbury plan, often lacking, is present in this set, bound in volume three. 99 of 100 of the folding maps, plates, etc, lacking the Little Barnfield map as often. There is an additional subscriber's list bound in. Some worming and paper repairs to the index of the second volume. Dampstaining to the first 5pp of volume three. Some small worm tracks or minor dampstaining in places, but generally finely repaired and generally very bright and clean throughout. A well preserved set which someone has clearly had restored at great expense.
