The work provides an insightful and condensed history of the Great Russia [Moscow], covering the significant events and developments in the region up to the time of its publication. It specifically focuses on the chronological overview of the reigning Czars [i.e. Tsars] or Emperors who have ruled over Moscow from its early history until the time of the publication of this book in 1717. A very rare early work on the history of Russia.

Condition: 

Probably original full calf binding. Some light rubbing to the spine which is slightly dry and would benefit from the application of a leather conditioner. Retains the gilt design in spine compartments and tooled morocco label. Some very light rubbing across joints but with both boards securely attached and the binding secure. Shelf and edge wear. Some light wear to boards but generally remaining very good. Top page edge dulled as typical. Some wormholing through the foot of the last 3pp, 2 of which are blanks, not affecting any text. Pencil ownership inscription to front pastedown and an ink ownership inscription to main title page, no attached bookplates or any other ownership inscriptions. Text block with some mild toning as typical and edge toning to endpapers as commensurate with the calf binding. Very clean throughout the text block. Uncollated but appears complete with frontis, no further plates through text block. Retains advertisement leaf and original blanks.
