Full brown calf bindings with red tooled labels in compartments to the spines between raised bands. Small fragment of the tooled label of volume one lacking. Binding rubbed and scuffed. All boards attached with cracking along the joints and cracked hinges, thus fragile. Boards are a lighter shade than the spines. Shelf and edge wear. Red spotted page edges somewhat dulled, top edges darkened. Bookplate attached to front pastedown in both volumes. Pencil shelf-mark to ffep in both volumes. Text blocks very clean with occasional foxing and dampstaining with some spotting. Edge toning to endpapers as commensurate with the full leather bindings. First few and last few leaves more toned and foxed than others.
