Geschichte der Hohenstaufen und ihrer Zeit von Friedrich von Raumer. Reutlingen, 1828-1829, 8vo.

-------------------

A notably fine set in beautiful fine bindings of what many consider to be Friedrich von Raumer’s magnum opus, The History of the Hohenstaufen, which was certainly responsible for the author’s strong reputation as a historian. He was the first scientific historian to popularise history in German. This work was first published between 1823 and 1825 and so this is probably a second edition. This edition contains various foldouts, including some hand coloured maps.
