Size: 100 x 157 mm (approx., each)

Condition:

[xvi, pp.1-175, i (advertisement)]; [i, pp.1-192]; [i, pp.1-179, i (errata)]

Full calf bindings. Spines rubbed & worn with loss at the extremities. All boards attached with some rubbing to joints and some tender. Shelf wear. Text blocks mildly toned but generally clean. Remnants of a removed bookplate to the front pastedown of the first volume with an ink gift inscription to the verso blank dated October 31st 1944. First blank leaf loose in the second volume but present, heavily edge toned as commensurate with the calf binding, as with the other endpapers through each volume. Final blank of the first volume also loose. No attached bookplate to the third volume, but with a 19th century ink ownership inscription to the head of the title page as in all three volumes. Despite the different Roman numeral volume tooled label to the third volume it is our opinion that this label was replaced and that the three volumes were bound at the same time, and also that the third volume was not later pieced together with this set as the aforementioned c.19th century ownership inscription appears to the head of the title page of each volume.
