Printed snippet attached reading "The 31st and 50th Regiments.- A correspondent of the Military Gazette says:- "The report of the casualties of the 31st, in the battles of Moodkee, Ferozeshah, Buddewall, Aliwal, and Sobraon, amounted to 23 officers, and 530 men. [...] previous to the battle of Moodkee."

Half brown calf over cloth backed boards with brown tooled labels attached in compartments between raised bands, other compartments with decorative blind-stamping. Bindings subbed and scuffed, with a small tear to the top of the backstrip of volume two. All boards attached with rubbing along joints, hinges cracked. Shelf and edge wear. Red spotted page edges dulled, top edges darkened as often. Text blocks very clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Attached snippet and piece of paper with inscription bound to the reverso of the frontispiece. Blue piece of paper attached to the reverso of the foldout in volume one, with a small tear to the foldout where the blue paper is. Top corner of the title page in volume two lacking. Red mark, rubbed pencil inscription, and attached snippet to the blank side of the foldout in volume two between pp.562 and pp.1 of the Guide. Ink marginalia to the Guide in volume two. Ink inscription reading "Guide to the Model of the Battle of Waterloo 563." to the white space at the end of volume two, pp.576. Ffep in volume two detached. Ffep in volume one mostly detached.
