-------------------

A fantastic 18th century English edition of Augustine's Meditations in an excellent contemporary full calf binding finely tooled in gilt to the spine with a very attractive tooled red morocco label. A very attractive copy, with a particularly remarkable text block, for being very bright and fully legible. A fantastic book for any lover of Church History, particularly for Augustine's huge contributions to theology.

Size: 129 x 201 mm (approx.)

Condition:

[(2), frontis, A1-Z8, 2A1-2C6, 2D4, (2)]

Collated as complete, internally exceptionally clean and bright. A fine copy internally, essentially without fault aside from a few ownership inscriptions to the heads of A1 and A2 and the first preliminary blank and the front pastedown, these trace the provenance between roughly the time of printing and c.1943. An excellent copy.

Contemporary full calf binding, finely tooled in gilt to the spine and board edges. Binding rubbed but remains attractive, joints and hinges cracked, but secure, functions properly as a book should. The binding is secure and stands without shelf lean. Some discolouration to page edges as typical, else generally a near fine example of this 18th century edition of Augustine's Meditations.
