A fantastic set of the works of Jane Austen. Antique sets of Jane Austen's works are rare. This set is finely bound by Bayntun, Bath, and features the famous illustrations of Hugh Thomson, famous for the 1894 Peacock Edition of Pride and Prejudice, as well as the celebrated Brock illustrations.

Contemporary uniform half calf over blue backed boards. Spines uniformly sunned, rubbed with some loss to the leather. Boards rubbed with some occasional minor discolouration. Some loss at the head of Mansfield Park. Titles tooled in gilt between raised bands with the other compartments uniformly stamped in gilt. Very minor wear to joints with all boards securely attached, hinges slightly rubbed. Top edges gilt with fore-edges uncut. Minor wear to corners. All bindings are secure. No shelf lean. Without any attached bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Very clean through all of the text blocks. Some foxing to page edges, else, internally excellent. Binder stamp of Bayntun at the head of the ffep in each volume.
