From the collection of Flaxley Abbey in Gloucestershire. Flaxley Abbey was founded in 1151 by Roger Fitzmiles, the second earl of Hereford, as a Cistercian Monastery. The Monastery was dissolved in 1536 during the dissolution of the monasteries. After the dissolution, the property was granted to Sir William Kingston, who turned the property into a manor. He was the constable of the Tower of London during the reign of King Henry VIII, and was the superintendent during the execution of Anne Boleyn.

Condition:
Very minor rubbing to spines. Small indent to the spine of volume three. Tooled labels present with minor wear. All board securely attached with minor wear to joints and hinges. Boards lightly sunned and scuffed. Shelf and edge wear. Shelf lean to volumes two and three. Dulling to page edges. Pastedown and endpapers prominently foxed. Text blocks very clean with light toning and very sporadic very minor foxing. Uncollated but appears complete.
