Condition:
Full calf bindings with decorative gilt in compartments to the spines. Tooled labels lacking. Bindings rubbed and scuffed with some scratches. Most boards attached, joints and hinges starting or cracked, thus fragile, front board of volume one detached. Some headcaps and tailcoats lacking, some present headcaps and tailcaps are worn. Shelf and edge wear. Marbled page edges dulled. Armorial bookplate and pencil inscriptions to front blanks in all volumes. Text blocks lightly toned with occasional foxing. Uncollated. Volume two half title and title page partially detached, remaining attached at the top. Volume three lacks title leaf. Volumes one through to nine only, of ten, lacking the final volume.
