FIRST EDITION!

-------------------

The author, Abel Jean Henri Dufresne (1788 - 1866), was a French magistrate, painter, author, and man of letters. His written works were primarily focused on the subjects of education and morality.

-------------------
Text rather humourously begins with "For a reader who values order and doesn't skip anything in a book, even a short preface is already a pleasant prospect. But if the author immediately gets to the point, then we must decidedly count among the small joys the sensation of those poor individuals who have read so many boring prefaces in their lives...".
