Size: 87 x 149 mm (approx.)
Condition:
[t.p., a3-a8, pp.1-192, 8pp (table), (1)]
Contemporary full calf, spine finely tooled in gilt between raised bands. Binding rubbed with a little loss in places with the leather of the backstrip slightly raised in places. Joints rubbed but with both boards securely attached, the binding secure, and without shelf lean. Page edges a little non-uniform, without any gatherings detached or partially detached; this seems to stem from the page block being originally misbound. Corners bumped with a little loss as often. Lacks frontispiece, as often, and front blank, else collates as complete. Small bookseller sticker to foot of front pastedown with some ink and pencil inscriptions to pastedowns and rear blank. Text block mildly toned, free of foxing or dampstaining, but with a little marginal worming to the last few gatherings, text without loss of sense. Page block slightly split in the gutter of the verso of pp.73. Stain to verso of final blank. A lovely heraldry book with incredible engraved plates.
