Publisher's blue cloth bindings illustrated with the magazine title and a busy street scene on the front boards, and with gilt title, date, and volume number in gilt to the spines. Bindings very lightly rubbed and scuffed, with some marks. All boards attached with rubbing along joints and wear to hinges, some starting or cracked. Spines lightly cocked. Shelf and edge wear. Page edges gilt with minor scratches. No attached bookplates. Ownership inscription to front pastedown in volume two. Text blocks fairly clean with light toning and minor foxing. Small wormholing in volume one to the last two leaves of the page block (pp.661/662 and rear blank). Pp.318 and pp.319 in volume one are attached near the gutter, causing some loss to text and a very small hole to pp.317/318. Small fragment has been glued down to pp.320 in volume one causing some loss of sense as it covers a part of the text, and had taken off a very thin layer of paper from the inner margin of pp.321. Shelf lean.
