Full brown calf bindings with blind-stamped boards, and gilt titles and shelf marks to spines in compartments between gilt bands. All boards attached with rubbing along joints, some starting, and wear to hinges, thus fragile; front joint and hinge of volume one cracked. Bindings rubbed and scuffed with some discolouration/marks. Shelf and edge wear. Page edges lightly toned with some marks, and top edges darkened as often. Text blocks very clean with light toning and occasional foxing and marks. Bookplate attacked to front pastedown in both volumes. Blind-stamp to both title pages. Return slip attached on the reverso of the last rear blank in both volumes, dated on the reverso 25 Jan 1954. Shelf mark bookplate attacked to rear pastedown in both volumes.
