Condition: 

Full brown calf with red and brown tooled labels to spines in compartments between decorative gilt, most rebacked, two original backstrips remaining, thus not uniform. Bindings rubbed and scuffed with all boards attached, some rubbing along joints and some hinges cracked, some boards being fragile. Front board of volume four mostly detached with the front blanks and title page. Some boards somewhat warped. Original backstrips worn and partially detached at edges. One original bakstrip has been rebacked (volume two). Prominent shelf and edge wear. Page edges toned. Text blocks extremely clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Uncollated but appears complete. Attached bookplate to front pastedown with inscriptions above in all volumes.
