Full grained calf, green boards with a brown spine, title in gilt between gilt bands to the spine. Lovely blind-stamped gilt page edges. Binding with slightly discolouration to edges and some minor marks. Both boards securely attached with rubbed joints and minor wear to hinges. Page block cracked between front blank, leaves secure. Minor shelf and edge wear. Top gilt page edge slightly darkened as often. Bookplate attached to front pastedown. Text block extremely clean with very minor edge toning and occasional foxing. Very small wormholing to about half of the text block, to the top of the leaves in the white space, not affecting legibility. A great early Elzevir Press copy of Hesiod's works.
