Gilt crests to the front boards of Sesames and Lilies & Unto This Last, reading "Marlborough College Founded A.D. 1843".
Gilt crests reading "Magn Aul. Univ. Oxon Coll." to front boards of Modern Painters volumes one and two.

Near contemporary full calf bindings with gilt titles between raised bands, with other compartments on the spines with floral blindstamped motifs, and blindstamped borders and floral motifs to corners of boards. Gilt crests to the front boards of Sesames and Lilies & Unto This Last and a different gilt crest to the front boards of Modern Painters volumes one and two. Spines lightly rubbed, more so to extremities. All boards securely attached with light rubbing along joints. Some spines sunned, but present nicely on the shelf. Boards lightly rubbed and scuffed. Small damp stain to very few boards. Minor shelf lean, all volumes remaining upright on the shelf apart from Unto This Last which doesn't stand vertically, but does when placed with the set. All page edges gilt. Very small damp stain to the top of the first few and the last few leaves of The Queen of the Air and of The Ethics of the Dust. Ink inscriptions to front blanks in all volumes, the inscriptions vary in text. Text blocks extremely clean with occasional foxing.
