A magnificent complete set of the first John Nichols edition of Jonathan Swift's works which was reprinted in 1808 and was at that time the standard edition which remains "indispensable" to scholars according to Maner to this day.

Condition: 

Full brown calf bindings, with blindstamped boards, and gilt titles in compartments to the spines between gilt bands, other compartments with simple decorative gilt depicting lyres. Bindings lightly rubbed and scuffed with some occasional marks. Some spines sunned and with small cracks to the leather. All boards attached with wear to joints and hinges, some starting or cracked. Some shelf and edge wear. Page edges marbled. Bookplate attached to front pastedown in all volumes. Text blocks very clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Uncollated. Volume eight with remnants of a previously stuck paper (?) to both pastedowns. Volume twelve with a patch of more prominent wear and rubbing to the edge of the front board, with very minor loss of leather. Volume nineteen with some sunning to the boards. Pencil inscriptions to front blanks.
