Collated in the order as listed above. All 12 volumes in the original red publisher's cloth with character designs and scenes to boards and spines, with gilt titles. Spines sunned and partially some boards. All boards attached, most with cracked hinges and wear to joints. Bindings with some occasional rubbing and scuffing and marks. Shelf and edge wear. Some cocked. Some light shelf lean but all can stand. Page edges toned and foxed, with some leaves creased. Occasional edge tears. Text blocks fairly clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Occasional marks and inscriptions. Some uncut leaf edges. Bookplate attached in Life on the Mississippi. Printing error on pp.378 in The Gilded Age. Blank lacking in the £1,000,000 Bank-Note. One leaf lacking from The Gilded Age.
Text block cracked in some places with occasional gatherings lightly detached in places, most prominently detached and partially detached leaves are as follows: Small gathering in The Innocents Abroad, pp.1-16, detached, and xv-xxvi partially detached, pp.337-352 mostly detached, and some other gatherings partially detached. Rear blank partially detached in Roughing It. Spine partially detached at the top of A Yankee at the Court of King Arthur. Front blanks mostly detached in A Yankee at the Court of King Arthur.
