The Miscellaneous Works of Nicholas Rowe. London: W. Feales, 1733.

-------------------
A fantastic work with lovely typography throughout as the images depict, including some lovely plates. Nicholas Rowe is best known as the first editor of the works of William Shakespeare in 1709, the first edition following the folios. This is the set of Nicholas Rowe's original works, here rebacked with contemporary, perhaps original, boards.

Size: 100 x 165 mm (approx.)

Condition:

[xvii, (3), 100pp, 36pp, (15), 162pp]

Rebacked with a modern spine and tooled red morocco label preserving contemporary boards with corners similarly rebacked. Thus both boards are securely attached, hinges expertly reinforced preserving the original pastedowns with an early bookplate to the front pastedown of Ew. Withers, Bookseller. Edge toning of preliminaries as commensurate with the calf binding. Boards a little scuffed but generally very good. Generally very clean throughout the text blocks though mildly toned as typical.
