1,250 copies were printed in ordinary paper format and 60 in large paper format, this being one of the ordinary paper examples. Both volumes are in their first edition format.

Spines rubbed and lightly cracked with prominent wear to heads and bottoms of spines. Tooled labels lacking. Front board of volume two detached. All other boards attached with cracked joints and hinges. Boards scuffed and rubbed. Shelf and edge wear. Corners prominently rubbed. Dulling to page edges. Bookplate attached to front pastedown in both volumes. Pen inscriptions to the front pastedown in both volumes. Endpapers with minor foxing. Text blocks very clean with very sporadic very minor foxing. Very small wormhole from the front pastedown to pp.146 in volume two. Very small tear to preliminary in volume one.
